Engineer by heart with passion for innovation and digitization
Erik Rieger spent his “engineers childhood” with the evolvement of CAD and grew up with the adoption of PLM for product engineering. His passion and experience is the result of consulting a wide range of manufacturing companies over the last 30 years, always looking for leveraging latest innovations
About
In 1988 Erik received his master degree in aerospace engineering, specialising on computational fluid dynamics. Driven by his curiosity for international experiences he spent the following year at the von Karmann Institute in Brussels. During his PhD time he developed a new approach for feature based design. After finishing his PhD he joined Computervision/PTC as product manager where he was responsible for data exchange.
Over the last 25 years he worked with European customers on realising PLM strategies and implementations, always catching up with latest developments. He gathered experience across automotive, aerospace and machinery industry, from concept to realisation at all levels … and still is excited to see how products are engineered and produced on site. During this time he also spent 3 years at Transition Technologies PSC as portfolio manager, driving the development of the EcpPLM solution for sustainability
In parallel Erik delivered university lectures, still enjoys writing scientific publications, contributed to the development of the STEP standard, but also is part of the PLM certification group in Germany
