Jos Voskuil has been active for almost 30 years in the domain of knowledge management and data management, supporting companies in their PLM journeys with the past 10 years a focus on digitization and sustainability practices.
About
In 1999 Jos started his company TacIT in order to support companies with their Knowledge Management strategies – as tacit knowledge was considered as one of the highest goals and in the early days of intranet the idea was that IT would fix this.
However, due to upcoming data management opportunities, Jos has initially worked that time as a trainer and mediator for a global organization focusing on PLM mid-market implementations.
His role was most of the time bringing the stakeholders in a PLM implementation together: the company and its management, the PLM vendor and the implementer partner(s) involved.
Learning and understanding that these implementations are first and above all an alignment of people’s expectations, methodology and often politics.
Therefore, Jos started his blog www.virtualdutchman.com in 2008 to share these experiences with others.
Blogging was the entry to activities at larger enterprises, which are dealing with similar issues and since 2011 Jos has been a lecturer at generic PLM events or at vendor/implementer specific events.
In 2015 Jos focused in his projects on explaining the essence of digital transformation in the PLM domain: From Coordinated to Connected as an analogy of digital transformation in other areas.
Together with Rick McFall, Jos started the PLM Global Green Alliance in 2020 with the purpose of bringing PLM-related skills and people together for a sustainable future.
Many areas of the product lifecycle management require digitalization to enable sustainability practices.
Having worked in many industries as a coach, Jos has the experience and skills to discuss PLM, digitalization and sustainabilty at most industries.
